Richard Brett
Joint Managing Director
Richard’s client experience reads like a list of the world’s most iconic brands. Get this: Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, Absolut, Timex, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Vidal Sassoon, Fairy, Gillette, Adidas, Whirlpool, Honda, Dulux, Wedgwood, Lee, Wrangler, Volkswagen, Mattel, John Lewis Partnership and Samsonite, where Richard ended up as Global Vice President, Marketing & Communications. Phew.
But then you might expect a man with an MBA from London’s Imperial College Business School to be a bit of an achiever. Indeed, during his degree, Brainbox Brett led a team that won the college’s BPC prize for innovation, entrepreneurship and design, securing Government funding for its business idea. His final year project “In a changing world of marketing clutter and consumer fragmentation...... is advertising failing, and PR succeeding?”, looked at the effectiveness of advertising and PR in the new digital age. As a result he specialises in integrated communications, but led with PR, focused on solving business problems.
Richard works across Shine’s client portfolio, working with clients such as eBay, ghd, Martini, Tupperware and Forever 21. Richard also heads up a number of divisions including Shine Live, (experiential marketing), Shine Creative (design and image) and our planning and brand management hub, Shine1.
And when he’s not doing all of that, Richard can be found out in the wilds, tearing around the countryside on his mountain bike followed by his trusty hound Dexter where, once they’re both exhausted, they’ll crash under canvas and do the very same thing the next day.
