    Rachel Bell

    CEO and Founder

    Rachel is a serial entrepreneur and prides herself on her natural commercial and business understanding, skills she puts to work every day at Shine. As our founder, she's responsible for our values, direction and ethos.

    But Rachel isn't just good with companies, she's good with people too. Rachel was honoured to receive the award for Best Leader in the Sunday Times Best Small Companies listing in 2012, in which Shine was placed first overall – with the highest ever results awarded within the industry.   

    Rachel is also involved in a number of charitable activities including the Women in Business Panel, working on behalf of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and is also a long-standing board member of the PRCA.

    Managing Director

    Lawrence is passionate about driving the agency proposition - delivering insightful, creative solutions that drive commercial success.

    The success of which has meant he's provided communications solutions for some of the world’s best known brands both nationally and globally such as Sony, Vodafone, Electronic Arts, Stella Artois, MTV, Heinz and Paramount.

    He has been instrumental in helping to lead the agency to acclaimed industry recognition as Marketing’s Best Agency, Sabre’s European Agency of the Year and number one in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For.

    Lawrence has enjoyed industry recognition throughout his career, from being tipped as one of PR Week’s 29 Under 29 to high commendations for PRCA’s Outstanding Communicator and PR Week’s Best Young Communicator.

    Erika Kessel


    Erika has been with Shine since the start and is one of the longest serving members of our team, second only to Rachel, our founder. She joined because she had a thirst to do big things for big clients - and it's a thirst she's yet to fully quench.

    As part of our team, Erika has been responsible for delivering iconic integrated brand campaigns across FMCG and lifestyle brands including Unillever, Danone, General Foods, Clarks Kids and Danone to name a few. Her recent campaign for Lil-Lets has just been shortlisted for a PR Week Integrated Award.

    She is key to driving ERIC throughout the agency, our award winning, industry leading measurement and evaluation system which has over 50 different ways to analyse campaigns, including the latest social media techniques, statistical analysis and econometric modelling tools.

    David Wiles


    David has worked both agency side working for some of the UK’s most renowned agencies and brands, as well as client side working in-house at LVMH. He has a passion for creativity and bringing PR’s inherent power for storytelling to integrated campaigns for some of the world’s most recognised brands.

    David has led UK and global projects for several Coca-Cola brands including award winning global campaigns for Coca-Cola, leading Harley-Davidson’s EMEA account, driving commercial success with iconic brands such as Nike, TAG Heuer, Lynx and Jaguar.

    Penny has over 20 years experience spanning music, fashion and iconic global brands delivering work for a huge range of clients from household names (Argos, SUBWAY, Wrigley) to niche lifestyle brands that inhabit the style arena.  She has also worked across marketing and PR teams from the client side for Allied Domecq and BSkyB, so she has an insider’s empathy for client challenges.  Penny’s love for originality, creativity and the media means she is brilliantly placed to help clients carve out bold pioneering launches and campaigns that engage consumers in unique ways.

    A Goldsmith’s art graduate, Penny is immersed in culture, loves new technology and innovations and always has one eye on the next big trend.  Having devised and led campaigns such as Virgin Media’s Speedweek with Jenson Button and Wrigley’s Get Extra Close to Henry Holland, Penny is always poised to stretch a client brief and create an unexpected response.  Whether its pulling out her little black book to work with influencers in ways that exceed expectations, or masterminding an experiential activation that surprises and delights the consumer, Penny is always pulling on cultural triggers to make sure our work is both relevant and innovative. As the previous head of a bespoke events agency, Penny brings her experience to head up Shine’s experiential division, Shine Live.
